For more than a decade, I worked as a software developer for a contracting company in Saudi Arabia. The job was stable and the pay was good, however, the future of the company was starting to look grim after the founder of the company passed away and the heirs started to fight over money and management rights. Despite the job was paying me well, it lacked the challenge and progress factors. I developed many applications that did help the company increase productivity, reduce costs and increase efficiency, however, it was the same process over and over again..
During that time, I started to think seriously about moving to another country and start from a clean slate. After some research I picked Australia as my new home to be. It took me almost two years of researching, gathering paperwork, sitting English proficiency Tests, submitting and resubmitting applications and a lot of waiting in between. Finally, I opened my inbox one day and found the golden email stating that I was granted a permanent residency visa as a skilled immigrant. No words could explain how exited I was, it was a life changing moment for sure.
While I was tackling the process of immigration, I thought that documenting the steps I took might be helpful for others who are perusing the same goal as me . So I created two playlists on my YouTube channel (which was inactive for years at that point). The first playlist was about how I studied for the PTE English exam and scored a superior score. The Second playlist was about my immigration timeline and the steps and obstacles I overcame. I was not expecting a lot of views to be honest. To my surprise my videos were very well received and did help a lot of people, and to this day I still receive thank you messages from viewers.
